About Perfect Pickler®
Bill Hettig created the Perfect Pickler® back in 1994 while learning about fermentation for his cooking school. While simultaneously making a crock of kraut, sourdough bread, and homebrew in his kitchen, he saw how the different devices encouraged or protected the fermentables. It wasn’t long before he created the Perfect Pickler® amongst the parts and parcels of fermentation. This jar top fermentor came alive slowly over the next two decades when Bill went on lecture tours about Perfect Pickler and put on demos around Central Florida and the East Coast. Since then he has created more than 99 recipes for almost any type of veggie fermentation.
Now, many years later, Perfect Pickler® is now owned and operated by Joshua Bauer under An American Homestead LLC. Our kits are assembled in the United States in the Ozark Mountains in northwest Arkansas.

In Memoriam
Jaimie had a desire to create for her family a happy home and kitchen while creating wholesome healthy food options. It was always common in her kitchen to see probiotic friendly foods being consumed or created. From homemade yogurts, kefirs, sourdough starters as well as vegetable ferments.
Today we continue that tradition so that our children won’t forget what real healthy food is and has always been. Putting ourselves in the position to own and operate the Perfect Pickler® company was a natural fit. We want our family and other families to reconnect with this ancient and proven method for having healthy healing foods rich in beneficial probiotics that anyone can conveniently grow in the comfort of their own kitchen.
